This is quite an interesting find isn't it. I wonder if it was used as almost a signpost/meeting area for the processions to the main henge, it seems a possibility if it is at the river end of the avenue.

Unfortunately I didn't see any this year. mind you I didn't go to a nice dark area away from the street lights so it's not surprising I missed the show. I watched the display on occasion when I was working nights back in the late 90's and it was definitely a spectacular sight, with some years better...

I like Robins story telling methods of conveying what is a far from being a fluffy way of working. Very true, I don't think anyone could say it was a fluffy way of working. The more of his witchcraft related works I read the more I feel it makes sense. I haven't read much of his Heathen based works...
